Thank you for making this video! I haven't had range issues yet as I have
only flown in a small area, but plan to do some flying at the lake near me and
will want the range boost. I appreciate you sharing how you solved your range
issues. Subbed.
That looks like a great mod! I'm definitely interested in doing this
Im about to attempt this mod myslef. Been flying the aton fpv for a few weeks
now and i was getting so sick of the RTH beeps that i end up flying without gps(wrap
foil around gps bar and arm the quad in non GPS mode) For anyone looking the the
amplified antenna he is using can be found on ebay. Just search 2.4g rc
amplifier.
I would love to try this model on mine.
Thanks I enjoyed the clip, I hope you come up with more upgrades and share them
with us.
Hey pilot, great video! Definitely about to do this! THANK YOU ??????
"enjoyed the vid. just bought the Aton and have been watching the various mods
posted.
were you having the range issue before the addition of the FPV camera kit?
I saw a vid where the GPS for the Aton is just about where your transmitter
antennae is and thought maybe it was causing some interference? Thanks."
How did you make the battery powered antenna?
Thanks for the heads up ... Just about to do the same thing with the same
Traxxas controller only using a DJI powered range extender (ex China which only
arrived today - $36 USD including post). I'll be interested to see the
results ... (Just needed to come back to your video here to see where you had
used for the shield to (earth). Hmmm, just a bit of a flash too. I'm going
to give leaving the factory antenna in place, clean up the copper wiring that
they use for the same towards its end and solder straight onto that .... in
other words just use it as though its a piece of normal conductive wire ....
That way I am not subjecting the board itself to excess heat ... Too much heat
and the track will lift straight off the board sub-straight ... If that's not as
good as what you are talking about, I will go to your method and remove the
antenna prior to soldering the antenna directly to the board ...
"I know this is an old video bc I watched it a long time ago. Do you still have
any of those antennas left? I'm intrested in swapping mine out. My aton dont
look very far when I get RTH. It's starting to piss me off. If not it's ok
thanks
Chris"
How long does the lipo antenna battery last (no meter) and what if you are out
3500 feet and the lipo battery goes dead... will it still return home?
How much do you want for one of them with the amplifier already together
Hey do you have a link to that booster and antenna combo by chance?
thanks bro just finish this mod and it def helps
Wow, that is really awesome! I am sold!
Could you explain in a bit more detail how you connected the Transmitter to the
Aton's power? I am setting up my Aton with FPV after watching your initial video
but thought, as you did, the power supply and filter board was a bit clunky on
top.
What model is the amplified antenna that got you 4700 feet?
I'm interested in the 6 DBI antenna
where can u get an amplified antenna like the one you are using.that is sweet.
Do you still have any antennas? I'll buy one
