I didn't have any planes to launch anymore since the fire until I got my F-27 and Opterra 2M. But still, I never did think I ever would need another catapult again in my life. But one tiny wind gust on a hand launch of my Opterra, and I got bitten. So building a launcher strong enough to launch my big, heavy, 7 foot wingspan, Opterra 2M wing became a necessity. A very well done job you did on the V3 R/C Self-Contained plane catapult Dave now you can get your hands on more flying wing planes and EDF's etc in the near future.
One thing that I have always admired about you is that when you need something and it¡¯s not readily available, you build it yourself. This was no exception, totally ingenious indeed. I really enjoyed seeing the old clips too. The NightFlyyer-A-Pult V3 definitely has improvements. No more finger/prop interactions. I also really liked the Portable Height Enhancer, ??. Love to watch those birds fly too. Semper Fi sir.

THAT night flight kept me from buying a wing for a long time. A buddy gave me a motionRC Neptune. Only 1 i have. ??
"Hey dave, i love the launcer for the optera. I considered the model but it was a bit rich for my blood & instead went with the Hobbyking phantom 1 meter fpv wing. It takes a 900kv motor that is in the same neighborhood, power-wise as my size 40 2 stroke os engines. I am seeing if conversion isnt feasible, i love the idea of a nitro giant wing! Heat sheilding must be carefully considered (she's foam) but ultimately i want long range and nothing beats ic for that. Her shape ALMOST lends to ducted fan, and a vlow ducted fan would be just keen, but thats a lot of acerage to heat protect. All up shes just over a kilo, i have yet to actually get her in the air trying to get my Jumpertx, aura5 board to talk nice to each other.. Have you ever gassed a foam wing? How did you protect it from fuel & heat? Am i kidding myself? And finally, why is it called KY jelly? It should be KY JAM! thats what its for! ??

I was Looking for information on model planes at Disney Land When I was a kid oh maybe about 6 years old and saw the planes at Disney Land Line control, Boats. Cars, and I could swear I saw a model airplane fly outside of the caged circle radio control or was I just dreaming it. Thanks for sharing

not bad, i dunno why you need a catapult for the F27, it just flies out of ya hand. as for the opterra, you need more "oomph" on that bungee.. it's stalling just as you put the motor on
you might like to try ... silicon tube .. we use it with all our fishing gear. to catapult bate out .. ?? try it it works.. tone uk
