This video shows how to change most Parkzone Ultra Micro airplane's motors. In this case a T-28 Trojan. This plane is quite old with many many flights, and a new motor really gave it a tremendous boost, shown by flying in extreme wind and how to land in a tree! Thanks for watching and please subscribe for more How to videos. Dave Herbert ~NightFlyyer~Tm AMA L-8221

Dave, great video! This was my first plane with ailerons. Too bad it's no longer in production. I'm REALLY hoping they come out with it again with a BL motor. That would be awesome!!!
Great video Dave, I lost track of all the regular channels I subscribed to on youtube for a while. I have only started watching them again and to find you had lost everything in the terrible fire shocked me so much. I am so glad you and you wife are ok and of course the cats. Nice to see you are still flying and creating great videos all the very best from Scotland.
Great tutorial! I'll probably have to do this eventually on my micro Sport Cub S, which is approaching 2 years old! Still flies great though! Nice flying in the wind and I love the lights!
5 out of 10 for the tree landing, had a bit of bounce and tumble. Good flight in that wind. Glad to see you getting back out there.
Really enjoying this channel. I wish I had found it sooner¡ I'm a little late to the party! Funny, when I was a kid I recall seeing articles about night flying in the magazines. It may have been RCM since that's what they had at our library. Thanks for your contribution to our hobby. So glad you documented so much. Speaking of magazines, I have a small collection of old RC magazine's from the 60's through the 80's. If you are interested in any of them, or all of them, let me know. I'd be glad to send them to you. I could also see if I have any specific issues that might be special to you.
Could you maybe do a video on how to install those lights? I have a small sport cub which is the same setup as yours just with a cub body on it
Dave, can you update us on what you guys are up to after the fire? Were you able to repair or rebuild? Have you moved? Do you have your own shop again? Fill us in buddy.
Very nice overhaul !! Enjoyed the vid!! Take care!!
Hi Dave. I will be on my way to Iowa for Easter in a couple weeks. My daughter has a nice park behind her house for flying! I am so excited. I had Hobby Haven in Erbandale reserve me a Cessna UMX for me. I will probably bring a couple other planes along to fly too,not my larger scale. Someday I wouldnt mind stopping and seeing you. I am glad to know we all have issues with those dreaded plane consuming trees! lol. Nice tip on replacing that motor. I was thinking I should lube up all my geared motor style planes with a touch of grease. Not quite as much as you, lol. I am going to get some of that foam tack glue. I got some of that white stuff, but its a rip off. It is Elmer's glue overly priced. Spring always has its share of wind doesnt it? Especilly in the mid west.
Ya, Dave, nice to see you having fun. I recently, had received the: New UMX CESSNA 182! Just has been too dave windy to Maiden her. Will let you know how it go's. Take-care, Shawn, in North Dakota....
NightFlyer Dave that sure was a Nice Video repair job & Flight Test ! Your just Great ! Thanks for the Video !
"In this highly informative video u pretty much transferred the Parkzone Mico sized planes technology to audience

How u figured out instantly that motor was faulty? When my old plane on unpacking didn't take off, I suspected every element from battery to prop to meshing gears to Prop shaft rusting, b4 narrowing down to motor."
I'd like to know how you got it out of the tree :)
Dam, Dave, Your one hell of a Cool Dude! I have a ParkZone P-51 Mustang & had wrecked-it! The whole front end tore off! Not, a good plane for a Beginner. One-Flight=$100 Dollar's! But, i did put-it back together.
Very cool :)
On mine there is a wire with a plug sticking out where the steerable wheel is put in. What is that wire and what is it for?
Dave , The T-28 looked good in the air despite the windy conditions. On a day when the wind isn't so strong you will be able to tell more. I liked the larger version of the T-28 you used to have with the retracts, it flew nice.
Look like installed in reverse gear there too, LOL! I just have to put another motor in my ember just locked up at a nowhere. Anyway have a great flying season sir!
Been a few years, but does anyone have a link to a replacement motor assembly? Thanks!
Nice :)
Nice one Dave greets from holland across the pond
You sure you don't have the order backwards?
