Online social commentary (media commentary):

* I recently saw the ad in Model Aviation, but since I already have small airplanes, I decided to make my own tethered system and save some money. Here are the flights and a fast combat with Jeff Martin. Both of us agree that this is a lot of fun. Don't have any micro planes? then go to Walmart or Target to buy. To see the Flyline product website, click http://www.flylinerc.com

Thanks for watching and subscribing,

Dave Herbert AMA 8221 Contest Director Leader Member Scientific Division.

"Great idea Dave! I never thought a gadget like this, seems to be a lot of fun.
Thanks"
"Parab¨¦ns! Venho acompanhando as suas criatividades com o modelismo em geral. Sou do Brasil mas queria muito estar perto de voc¨º para aproveitar melhor todas as suas id¨¦ias.
Sou modelista tamb¨¦m!
Parab¨¦ns!!!"
"I saw a tv spot for those and first thing that came to my mind was, ""I wonder if Dave's going to get that?""
I did not know that they were going to be so much. Thanks for showing us this, IMO, better way to tether combat."
Very neat project Dave!! I had a tethered helicopter toy when I was little back in the 70s which was my favorite toy of all. I might have to give this a try for some inside winter flying Thanks for the great idea!!
Everytime you post a review, i'm sure to have a great moment! Thanks for sharing your passion with us!
You always do the coolest things with RC's...you are.a true pioneer. Thanks for sharing as always.=)
Great video Dave, it looks like a lot of fun. Just in time for the cold weather.
Mr. Herbert, you never freakin fail to amaze me with your innovations! Made me laugh! Cheers
High, just found this old video Dave, I've done something very similar on 13ft lines in my garden during this Corona Lock Down, yes the wind can be trickly so best done in the evenings, great fun though, radio control round-the-pole ??
Dave, once again you're a genius! Super cool idea using parkzone micro's. You always show us that the best idea"s are always home grown. That you can have tons of fun without having to spend a ton of Money. Thank you sir!
Looks like you guys always have fun& I enjoy your videos!
Nice mod to those micros that is great like you said for landing practice and the streamer combat looks like a lot of fun, I give it 4 thumbs up for fun
That was great, man that looks fun. Thanks for sharing, that was very cool!
"Lots of fun to watch too. Have always loved this method - it makes a superb speed tool too...I used to try out homemade aircraft and power systems on an indoor line. Would time how many laps in 1 minute and know if speed improvements had been made. Good tester for servo's, landing gear rigidity, throttle response, range testing and lots more.
Every R/C home should have one lol"
I¡¯m doing this! Building a foam board plane with 2 channels sounds easy enough!
Another entertaning video Dave,I am going to give that a try,and your still my favorit rc aircraft channel.Keep it up!
Wow what a great garage you have, Looks more like a model shop, I really enjoy watching your video's because you always have a good time, Whether your on your own or you have friends around you make R/C great fun, Thanks and keep it up.
Cool stuff, a more elegant way of flying electric RTP. I saw something like that flying for the first time at the bavarian flight museum in Munich about ten years ago, was infected instantly and couple of weeks later built my first RTP plane - a GeeBee sportster, then jumped to CL than to RC but watching this video gives me second thoughts about returning to this chapter.
"Rarely should one buy anything one can build.
Nice battle, nice corkscrew landings."
Too cool lots of fun thanks for sharing!!!
Maaan never thought of flying rc planes like that!!! You just made ny day, Thank You Mr Herbert!;D
Do you get to control the ailerons or flaps?
Look cool but how do you stop the strings from tangling up if a lower thethered plane decides to do a loop over a higher thethered plane? It'll be a tangled mess at the end of the combat ;)
Yes that looks like great indoor fun {"_*}
"Cool video!
And i thought i had alot of models! lol
Cheers for posting."
that looks so much fun!
"This is so simple and cool, now I want to make one.

I wonder what happened to your friend, have not seen him for yrs..."
Hahaha! Good times with nonstop model airplane action!
i remember as a child seeing these Tethered planes in the park , but with 2 wires with a handle in each hand , no controller as such , you moved around with the plane .controlling it with the wires
Dave great video,i was smiling right along with you and Jeff.Hey whats's up with the "magic rings" that are patented with the kit?I want to peek in the kit and see how you can pass and loop each other,or was the ad misleading?thanks
"absolutley brilliant.
entertaining and Fun"
that is just way to cool super job great idea saved a bunch of money superbly done looks like loads of fun happy flying buddy !!
nice work!
"I bet AS3x would hate this!
Nice one Dave :-)"
reminds me of my contol line combat days...
cool, great idea to have some indoor fun all winter, but you need a quite a big garage :-)
ha ha another great vid dave please please never loose that child like innocence that is in you goes for jeff too :) x
Very cool man!!
So it is necessary to disable the rudders and ailerons and just leave the elevators enabled. Are those Parkzone or Flyzone aircraft.I was thinking of buying the piper cub to get started.I will not buy the Flyline due to the almost universally negative online reviews mostly about fragility and the propellers constantly falling off.. What weights did you use for the bottom of the plywood base?
WoW pretty crazy i really want to try that thx
sir...how did you build it? did you build the remote control and other electronic devices for that plane sir?
Nice Model A you have there.
love it
I must say you also have a very nice look car in the background. Is it a model A?
How long have you been in this hobby?
3 people have never lived the control line era.......... I was smiling the whole time.
Fascinating. I did get dizzy watching this. Yikes.
so cool
Wow brings back, lots of memories,
I found a small indoor tethered rc helicopter for $20
Thats cool how much do you need to not make the plane crash
the streamers were a great idea :)
Any normal person would have moved the plant pot?
that was awesome i will be making that 200$ kiss my rudder
Very cool,Im guna make a drinking game out of it!!!
thank you for putting the moozak (music) more in the background- i find it so repulsive to make the vids unwatchable- otherwise fine job -
