This is a great video MacMave - I am considering using green screen for my models, what editing software would you reccommend to get a finish as good as this?
Great from an FX perspective, but factually Tigers never had electric turret turn when stationary, it was a hand crank or run off the engine, and they don't move when they fire, the barrel recoils. Impressive stuff considering you were working with an HL. Take a look at my vids for some RC Tigers etc with sounds.
Wow, the shot at 44 seconds looks real aside from the stutter!
Looks good, nice one! I'd agree with agustinbs though with the physics comment. Think of trying to replicate the suspension and bounce of the vehicle. Maybe by adding weights to it or sitting it on a few springs or even a water bottle might give it that rocking motion you'd find after a real tank fires. Loving the last shot though!
Looks pretty good! Good job. Only a few seconds here and there that look a bit fake but nothing too problematic.
Well done. I would sell the blast with a photo flash on with a colored Gel, aimed towards the front of the tank, and a can of compressed air to kick up some flour sprinkled around the scene, and a little camera bump. The whole 'Shock Wave' effect would really push it over the top.

" It is so hard to get plastic models to give that heavy ride look. they always seem to wobble, especially the guns. Slowing it doen helped. Not bad.

Given that the original source is video, this is really good stuff. This is documentary quality at least and better than the sad CG stuff on the History Channel. Obviously you'd like a bigger model (1/8 to 1/6). Obviously they are very hard to come by. Have you considered forced perspective? I'm modifying a 1/6 M1 Abrams for camera and I plan to use it expressly for forced perspective. Really good job with smoke and everything.

Instead of using the rc tanks inbuilt go back when firing, you should just let it stand there and add all effects of the firing with after effects and 3D.
