I suppose you might call this a Lab test of the Mabuchi RS 380SH 4535 motor as an drop-in upgrade over the stock Heng Long motors. The Mato 3:1 gearbox was used in the test. It appears that under a very light load the 380 SH has almost twice the speed and nearly 3 times the power of the stock motors. Feild testing in an actual tank under a load is still needed. "To be honest I never tried it in the tank. I have about 20 of them just setting in a box. I was more interested in trying brushless motors, and I built several tanks and a Kyosho Blizzard like that. The top speed of the tank would be faster with either this brushed motor or the brushless, but because you need a different radio and ESC, the speed is completely variable and not like the stock two speed Heng Long equipment.

" I wouldn't be surprised if they were discontinued at this point. I bought them on eBay from a guy who got them in a large lot at a surplus sale from a medical device manufacturer. So they have been around quite a while since they were originally purchased new.

This motors are 12v will they work well on 7.2 v heng long tank?
