Online social commentary (media commentary):

We used to use Chemical lights on our heli rotor blades 37 years ago but LED's are the way to go today. I know there are Programmable LED blades but they are quite expensive compared to my $10 lights. See a bit of history, how to make them, and flights using both methods. Thanks for watching and please subscribe. And don't step on your plane or heli in the Dark!

Great work Dave. You are a true pioneer still in the hobby and teaching. Thanks for sharing
"Hello Mr. Herbert, thank you for all the great ideas.
question- how does 3V button cell power 12V LED? did you bypass the resistor?"
Thank you very much for the information "NightFlyer!" I love building thing's by hand because it gives me a much greater appreciation for a creation, as well as a lot of insight!

That looks awesome! It kinda looks like a green halo over the heli. Very nice Dave!
Hi Rotor Riot has been banging their heads together to come up with led props for drone looks like you are way ahead of the game.
My friend, You come up with some of the most amazing ideas..!
Great video Dave. For those not wanting to modify the main blades, night blades are available for both main and tail rotor.
Very interesting Dave, just wondering how soon there will be reports of 'strange lights in the sky' in your local newspaper, please keep the vids coming, best wishes from England
Another fine video Dave, and LED'S are the way to go.....so bright / low power consumption. Thumbs up again!!!!
Looked good Dave, and the Blade 350 looked good to lit up. Any reports of UFO's in the Sibley area that night ?
"I wonder if there¡¯s a way of having dual coloured LED¡¯s on the rotor and having it so they lit red on the left and green on the right?
I¡¯m guessing it¡¯s possible to do if you¡¯ve got the know how."
Looks awesome with the LEDs. Tho, i'd probably use motor winding wire as the copper tape does tend to get sticky and loose after a while. The thin wire is easily hidden under some clear packing tape on the trailing edge and because it's coated in lacquer, two strands can be twisted together and put together even nicer.
Very entertaining history lesson-the best kind!!!
"BRILLIANT!!!!
You are the Man!"
11:00 looks like star trek starship in the night sky
A UFO was seen in the Sibley cemetery last night, but the SPD reports it was just an old fart as high as a kite flying his chem light chopper with his wife... Oorah, Dave from another Dumpmaster from the planet Neptar.
