"Just came across this video, I would love to see a nitro version of it that would be cool. I see the gun uses air soft ammo, they make different weights of those, you would have better penetration with the 25 gram ( black) ammo depending on the power of the piston that drives the air charge. I read in the comments about trying ball bearings, If you can find 5.5mm steel bearings it should work depending on the power of the air charge. I have used them in a air soft rifle with mixed results.

Although using 5.5mm silicon nitride (ceramic) balls are much better.
" I've got one. Had it for about 8 years. But mine came with a full charger, not USB. You can get brass gearbox too. The problem with them is the tracks seem to stretch slightly over time causing slip of track drive sprocket. There is adjusters available as an upgrade. Respect
M41 Walker Bulldog baby! Out of all the other Henglong tanks, this one IMO is the funnest to drive around. Moves around like a light tank should. :)
If kids stick fingers in the metal gears ...well I bet they won¡¯t do it again. It¡¯s called natural selection
Just have to let you know me and my 5 year old son absolutely love your channel we first subscribed after watching your review of the ripsaw ev2 tank review and we just received the tank yesterday and my son couldn't be any happier with it, keep up the great content and rock on!
"Explosive bbs: exist Rc tank: has working gun Me: oh yeah, its all coming together.
" Very cool and thorough review and test. Looks like a Banggood good bang for your bucks.
Kev, when you clean your rc's use an air gun to blow off around the bearings so you don't have to spray near them when you clean them with the hose.
I¡¯m pretty sure there is a button combination on that controller where you can slow down the movements so it¡¯s less touchy and moves more realistic... also these have been around for a long time since the 2000¡¯s, they compete with Taigen and Tamiya tanks! I have a tiger 1 from 2012 and still has the older FM radio but I¡¯m currently in the process of upgrading from the old school control board inside to the latest TK6.1s
I¡¯m suprised Kevin has not entered robot wars. Can you imagine the stuff he would come up with!? Rip saw wheels was mad enough
These are great tanks, I used to have one & loved it!
"Great upload Kev I like the idea of an rc tank in the woods negotiating the terrain... : - )
" Hey kev, you should get stickers made that say you infamous saying, "ohh no, what happened!". Sell them to us!
Would be cool if more of this stuff was made in the UK, it would be more expensive at first but would create an industry with real jobs.
I remember my brother used to have a tiger tank version and it was all metal. And made sound effects and shot BB¡¯s. Was a cool bit of kit
This is awesome. I love that it shoots and that it jumps like it's an actual tank shooting. Very cool
I had one about about 35 years ago from Radio Shack.....was fun and quite simular in size and basic funtion. It didn't have the exhaust smoke or shoot. I'm now 48 and would play with this one. Pretty cool....If I remember right mine cost around $40 or $50..... I wonder what the price is..??
For over 14's, you can have an IR battle system so you can fight other tanks no BB's. Pleased you are so safety conscious Kev, launching 70 mph RC trucks 30 feet into the air at a kids scare park is kosher mate. LOL
I¡¯m really wondering why he didn¡¯t talk about the tank¡¯s suspension the entire video. He would usually talk about the suspension in every video about unboxing or something.
I have several HL tanks, and I can tell you that Sherman shoots twice as far as all my other tanks! I have clocked 70 yard shots with 6g seamless airsoft BB's !!
I just bought me a M41A3 on Amazon with the metal upgrades. When I was a child I had a Sherman tank from Radio Shack. That was 1984. I hope this M41A3 is as good.
Top interesting and with action made video - Thank You ! And in my opinion, HengLong is the best choice in Tanks for the price! Cheers, Frank
I own this tank in entry level version and Challenger I in mid tier. They are quiet good and capable models with tons of upgrades if you feel you want to bring them up to the next level. But defo new controllers and controller boards on the new tanks are better then old ones.
I had the Tiger. A lot of tank for the money, but the ESCs have a huge deadspot and start abruptly so precise steering is almost impossible. Looks like this has the same problem. Mechanically it's great though, but I recommend replacing the electronics for better control.
Interesting, I bought the same one with metal tracks but on the bottom I have a red switch and a black switch plus a recessed white, round shallow volume rheostat underneath.
Expect to spend ?600/$790 on two tanks, one isn't enough. It doesn't get mentioned very much in reviews, but the "infrared battle system" is really where the fun is! Simpler if Henglong marketed these as "laser tag with tanks", because that's what it is. Battles are best indoors (Stalingrad) or out of doors after dark (Kursk), because the infrared is light sensitive and target detection works better in low light. It's also fun to shoot 6mm airsoft paintballs, just much harder to hit your opponent. These tanks are incredibly fun to play with and also very enjoyable If you are into the history. The models are reasonably accurate and there is an absolutely massive aftermarket for mechanical and cosmetic upgrades, basically anything you can think of, for these tanks. It should be quite obvious but, NOT SAFE FOR UNSUPERVISED YOUNGER CHILDREN!
Swap the motor and esc to run it on 6s!!!
Really nice detail on the tank and I enjoy watching your videos especially the Lego builds
Kev was sick and still made the best quality videos around!
if this tank was also scale weight it would weigh 1468.125 kg, puts into perspective how heavy tanks are
I got the m26 patton from the same company. I love the thing. Its heavy duty, even though i just have the plastic tracks and gear box. Its a blast to crawl around with. Please do more vids with yours. Want to see what crazy stuff you have in store for it
Great vid. Did he ever take this outside? I'd be curious to see how it fared as a crawler.
6:34 I love that camera angle
Did you ever find a list of the metal parts upgrades? Just got this for my son, and want to upgrade it :D
"I got one of these in 2011 and It was so good I got another one then built another from scratch! Good fun machines!
" I used to have a couple of these tanks. The only downfall to the metal gear box is the bushings. The bushings wear out and the transmission starts to eat itself and rip the gears apart. It would have been a better design if they used ball bearings and one of the last a lot longer. The money that you spend on the metal version it should come with a set of ball bearings in the transmissions
What are your parameters for the British Challenger Tank? For example; Length, Width, Height, BB Capacity, Projectile FPS, Projectile Distance, Tank Weight.
Only Kev would test an RC Tank buy shoving a Banana in the Tracks
I may be an adult, but toy tanks that shoot are bad ass
I have a Heng Long panzer IV , Tiger , King Tiger , Sherman with various upgrades but in Australia they no longer sell shooting tanks or the smoke oil stupid customs . Great video .
5:42 when you¡¯re using the stock gun on any WoT battle
wow that tank is very cool... very scale and a ton of functions...
Looks awesome, my only concern is the placement of the on/off switch and battery compartment.
Cool tank I would definitely like to see more of it
My dad had an RC tank when I was a kid, "back in the early 70's" this thing was built, "like a tank" had a 3hp gas motor. I could sit on it while he drove it around. It would shoot BB'S.
Didn¡¯t think I would like it but looks pretty cool. Can think of lots of cool things to do with the cannon
Imagine bringing it to Airsoft battle.
Looks like M41 Bulldog! One of the fastest tanks in WoT: Blitz!
Got one for my 4 year old boy. He never plays with it but I do. Lots of mods to do to it to make it better. I changed the body for a cast alloy one and its sweet af.
Nice video brother. I just bought the same exact tank, but my res light on the tank turret never worked. Do you happen to know what channel the red light is on the receiver. I think I'm going to put s 2.5- 3 volt laser nowhere the red led is. Any help would be AWESOME. Thanks brother.
Man that would rule with some scale model weathering. Chipping, rust, and so on.
Nice review Kev, there are places out here that have model villages where people battle these things against each other. Proportional control looks good. Where was Pat when you needed target practice?
All man I was hoping you were going to do a back flip with it
Are tanks allowed in the demolition derby race thing? For the price that looks like a great deal.
for the price with out the metal parts , thats awesome !! i might have to get one
I wanna see tanks like this and people hosting events on an actual battle with bullets.
Get better soon Kev! Great video cool tank but i think it needs the ripper motor!
To be fair, the smoke is the most impressive part of that tank. lol
Looks real tank~!!!I love it~!!
Muy buenos tanques me gustar¨ªa conseguir uno as¨ª como le ago ayuda
That was a good video, I Iike the trials you put it through, it seems the tank needs some more weight, then it could get a lot more traction.
I have the mk4 , Acompany in Aussie sells low range gearboxes, metal tracks, wheels hatches etc, the gearboxes made a huge difference if you want to drive and paint them to scale.
Id love to have a scale rc tank with a built in semi auto shotgun. Miniature diesel engine of course...
I always want a rc tank with working guns SUPER THANKS TO YOU BECAUSE I ORDERED IT AND I GOT IT
According to the Q and A at Banggood¡this does not, nor are there metal tracks available for this model. Only the gear box has metal parts.
"I'm pleased enough with the Commander's sculpt. Reminds me when I was a kid and had some of those oversized plastic green army men.
" I'd have sold my soul for that when I was ten lol!
Wow, I've had this model for around 12 years now.
Awesome video Kev, Hope you feel better soon sending love from Hawaii
Yes please ! That tank looks absolutely awesome !
are these tanks (with of course the added metal parts) durable? Some RC guys in a forum i was reading was saying the metal parts on especially the Henglong tanks produce more wear and tear on tank chasis leading to breakages.
I¡¯ve just realised!.. how long will it be until Kev replaces the BB gun with a 12bore shotgun or something equally bonkers.
Hey. Could you do another video with slash 4 x 4.I really miss seeing that.
Great video really cool enjoy watching this runs over everything camera too on point
God what I¡¯d do to have a job like this!
Hello I have been watching you for a long time You are probably the best model on YouTube . I'm from the Czech republic, I also have wttoys a979 and I give you a simple upgrade when you put in a 3s battery then it goes much more fast like this about 2 months and all is ok. I have exactly this battery in it
Do not let the muzzle flash suppressor ( tip of the main gun) strike or hit anything solid. It cracks and breaks off very easily .
I thought when you said it's to dangerous for children that this thing incorporate a 22 caliber, or high powered water, or smoke cannnon. I admit bee bee guns were going out of style in the 1970's when I was a child. Be cause of kides sticking the barrel in their mouth, or eyes. But this seems to be a parental observation issue.
"Hey kev, you should do a review on a Losi LIKE IF YOU AGREE!!
" I've always wanted one,I'd prefer mine with metal tracks an gears, also they have a snow Leopard style and the Abrahams m1a1
"Someone: Buy this rc tank it's amazing it also can shoot! Me: No thx Also someone: Here's shooting demo Also me: Now we're talking...
" I kind of surprised that banggood carries these. My local hobby store has a bunch of these.
My rc front loader has a lot of power where it would really do some damage to your finger. I just wish the dang thing moved faster. It claims to be able to hold and move with a 180 pound man on top of it. Just stay away from the turn table. It's actually pretty crappy. I hope to get into hydraulic construction vehicles or even a tank down the road. I wish there was some interest in showing off hydraulic RC's on Kevin's Channel. :)
Hey kev, i love rc stuff a lot.. I want to attend an rc event wherever it takes place... I am from INDIA, PLEASE provide some direction..
That's pretty cool lol. Stuff paying ?60 for unnecessary metal tracks though
you should see if you can get the metal tracks, hubs and gearing and frankenstein it onto the sports tank, that would be sick! plus the sports tank might benefit from the extra weight
Tug of war against your other RC cars!!!
Very cool tank. Awesome vid Kevin!!
that is really awesome I wish I could have gotten something like that whenever I was little you know I'm 20 but I think I'll still probably get me two of them xD maybe I'll make it into a tanketred mech gunpla or something
You can buy these in hobby shops in Perth Western Australia ???? but they are blocked from shooting BB pellets banned in WA
It should have a place to screw in mini rechargeable co2 compressed cans inside so it could actually fire like a full fledged bb gun. It be sick firing metal bb's at full speed with it, better yet would be to get rid of that shaking animation when firing.
Now imagine my 1/16 scale all metal tiger 2 tank pulling your fingers into its drive wheel (weighs 25-30 pounds ) lol
Title should be ¡®Too Expensive for kids¡¯
Can you reverse the controls so the left stick drives it and the right stick controls the gun?
My M-60 Patton weighs in at roughly 26 pounds, all metal with 550 motors and heavy bicycle drive chains from the jack shaft. I't like a duel chainsaw when it glitches.
So many of these cool vehicles but, I'll stick to the speedy ones thank you very much.
Well, you can take it crawling, but I don't think it would do too well at the scate park. :D
About that drive sprocket, I have a fully upgraded m26 pershing by h/l including an aftermarket steel gearbox. Tons of torque, one day the drive sprocket screw backed off and i gave my friend the remote, he accidentally bumped the throttle and the sprocket spur went through my fingernail twice.. YES TWICE, don't get your finger stuck in there...
Legend epic as ever ????????
definitely saving up for two of these, one for me and one for my brother we would have a ton of fun
