. Here is my review, service guide, accessory fitting and test of the Waltersons Heng Long Premium Sherman M4A3 1/16th scale Radio controlled tank. I purchased mine from http://www.tankzone.co.uk/ who have been most helpful.

In this long'ish review we start with unboxing and move forward to testing the tank. It has metal tracks but everything else is plastic apart from the gears. Much smaller and lighter than the Tiger 1 I reviewed a while back. Once detailed, it looks the part. Running was good. Adding smoke oil will be a bit of a fiddle LOL. Be glad to answer questions and read comments. Watch out for a video featuring this tank in action soon.

(Note, I am interested in model RC tanks because of the historic importance and engineering skills shown, I know and accept that in reality these machines were designed to kill and huge casualties were caused, the bravery of the men who fought them and in them can never be underestimated)

I like the use of a turn table..great idea. Makes turning, painting etc.. Much easier. Will look for a powered one, it can be used for display as well. :-)
"Nice review Mike. These Heng Long/Taigen/Waltersons 1/16th tanks are great value for money & the Sherman is going to be my next tank project. Look forward to more running videos of this tank.
" Its hard to model the sprung tracks of a Sherman without making them very tight on the idlers and sprockets. Would be an expensive detail to model Im sure.
I got mine from Ebay.1/16 scale. I got the metal tracks, motor metal gears and sprocket. Later. And put them on myself. Fun. These are a little bit pricey. Got around $ 325.00 . In it now after batteries upgrade. After I saw the movie Fury, I had to buy this. Very good movie, watched it about 40 times. thank you for the video. Nice work. Simplify
"Ordered mine yesterday, will add to my little collection. Great video Mike.
" Hi mike. Im starting up with rc tanks an im wondering, as you can get stock or premium heng long kits, will the type (stock or prem) affect its cross country ability?
Very pleasant and quite informative video. When compared to the Tiger I too felt admiration and a bit of concern for the Sherman crew. Well done.
Hi I just looked at one! massive gun, but my next tank needs to be a KV1 I think to keep within the period I am interested in :)
You should also try Henglong's new ZTZ-99, I hear its a great one!
"Now that's a fun little machine!

I'd love to make a steamshovel or traction engine in this scale.
" Great video Mike. One question, where did you get the model making turntable?
Hi and thanks, yes great models for the money :) Already planning the next video, what will the Sherman be asked to do I wonder :) thanks for the support.
This version of the sherman with the 105mm gun can knock out a tiger 1 up to 2000m meters away with m67 heat shells
Hope you enjoy the hobby, non of mine were kits just ready to run with customisable bits included. As for cross country, its a question of scale, remember that your tank will be 1/16th so equally every obstacle needs to be considered the same way, so a 2cm blade of grass would really be a 32cm blade of grass and so on. These tanks do ok but you need to have a care at the same time
Great video, very concise and easily understood. I have not run any RC for years, however, I always wanted a tank....I will have to check my budget..Ha..Ha. Again, Great Video & I have subscribed...Have a Great Day Sir.
Sadly the outlet tubes are where shown in the video! the only easy option would be to drill a small hole in the tubes, but to be honest I don't use the smoke function that much :)
Hi everyone and thanks for all the nice comments, glad you enjoyed the review, to add I have found adding more smoke oil a pain really! you have to tip the tank on its back, add oil, right the tank, stand on nose and then on back so that the oil flows around all the bends LOL
"Excellent review! ?Only thing I'd ask is about the track tension - can you tighten up those saggy tracks?

" "Hi Mike great video

Just wondering did your sticker transfers go on okay mine just wont. As i peel them off the sticker comes off with the clear plastic cover. Ive stuck them down hard do you think it could be a dodgy batch of transfers? Btw how much did you pay for your Taigen tiger and does it have all the similar functions to the heng long? Thankyou
